Why Must They Die?

Tear running from the corner of my eye,
why God, why must they die?

We tried so hard, and came so close,
but when we got there, it didn't matter the most.

Again I stop and ask the Lord why,
though in heaven this hero will surely fly high.

The guy beside me in every burning hall,
he never gave up, he's not moving at all?

Tired and weak, in disbelief, God's reason I seek.

My comrade foregone, how must I move on,
from this world, he is withdrawn?

The one who first went into every burning house,
not with us anymore, though the fire we've doused.

How can this happen God, why must it be,
I am asking you this God, down on thy knee.

Tear running from the corner of my eye,
why God, why must they die?
