The power of light

From glowing ember or vivid spark

Comes the power to light the dark

Fanned by fuel the breath of life

Raging inferno. Troubling strife

Creeping, dancing high and wide

Twisting, turning side to side

Blackening touch searing heat

Far beyond your early seat

They come to dowse or rescue all

Some are saved some who fall

Brave as lions they fear your power

Few safe havens in which to cower

And when the light is now extinguished

A smoking pall remains distinguished

Whisps of smoke rise to the resounding drip

We see the hold the awesome grip
